  • kinbaku (緊縛): (noun) literally 'tight binding'. It does not convey the meaning of sexual bondage outside SM circles. However, some experts, e.g. Kinoko Hajime and Osada Steve, make a distinction from 'shibari' in that it is used to refer to sessions with a strong emotional exchange.
  • kinbakushi (緊縛師): (noun) kinbaku master, can be shortened to bakushi.
  • shibari (縛り): (adverb) the act of tying, binding or weaving. It does not convey the meaning of sexual bondage outside SM circles.
  • shibaru (縛る): (verb) tie or bind with a rope
  • nawa shibari (縄縛り): (noun) rope-tying with a rope (an incorrect, "made-up" term, does not exist in Japanese )
  • nawashi (縄師): (noun) literally,"a maker of rope", but in SM circles it means a professional "rope artist" (source Master K's book "Shibari, The art of Japanese Bondage")

I am processing the ropes.  Almost once a week, I boil the rope.  few days later I treat the rope with the oil.  And few days later I package the ropes.

Jute rope is consider secret in Japan.  It is good to have jute around in my house.  It is said to clean the air and the spirits of the house.  I prevents bad to come in.
They are used in the entrance of the shrines, in many layers.  Shrine has many layers of gate until you get to the main shrine.  On the way, you will see many doors that suppose to block the bad spirit to enter.  Jute is often used to go around the poll of the gate to enhance the power.
It was also used to be a symbol to pray for.
